I should probably add, that although chasing “Resume languages” is a cup that cannot be filled, if you’re in a position where no one is pouring *any* liquid into that cup, then you are justified in your concern and you should redress the balance.

Not being able to do X, but having recently gained skills in Y and Z, means you need more perspective.

Not being able to do X and not having learnt anything else either, means you’re stalled, which in our industry is less than ideal.
