Is Upset Stomach Cause Mouth Ulcer?
2 things why it’s possible that upset stomach affects your mouth:
1. Overeating stimulates nerves in the stomach to release more stomach acid.
2. If you have WEAK esophageal sphincter (a muscle located between your stomach and esophagus) caused by overeating, aspirin, antibiotics, alcohol, cigarettes, caffeine, spicy foods, it causes stomach acid to reflux up to your esophagus to the mouth through vomiting.
To my own understanding mouth ulcer is exaggerated.
Also, any ulcer is formed after prolong period of time expose from a cause.
You will not get ulcer right away if you vomit stomach acid only once.
Furthermore, mouth ulcer is not detrimental and can heal on its own in a week.
Because our mouth constantly producing saliva which is rich in mucus that protects your mouth from any harmful agents, saliva also contains enzyme called lysozyme which is antibacterial.
If you keep yourself hydrated and eat more alkaline food like vegetables, all is well.
Your main concern is your upset stomach.
It could be indigestion that later results to malabsorption of nutrients.
Or too much acid in stomach that may later damage your intestinal lining.
