My own dabble into this space is also built on AirTable. And like you it was focused on data collection. But I do believe that you need both. The researcher’s (or deigner’s) job is to turn data into insights of strategic value for the organization and to be able to spread these insights through the organization. Your scale may vary, but getting the nuggets out into the eco-system where ideas are refined and validated is a key to innovation success.
But yes, making sure that all your data sources are included in insight development is also key.
