I didn’t stop reconfiguring Windows to use vgasys.fon (“System”) as the font for menus and such until around 2008. It was the content font for all my mIRC installations for.. ever. Today I use Terminus (and a different IRC client). Watching you adults discover the shapes of a thing that I have perfectly detailed memories of has made me feel quite alone and out in the cold, and fearful for where you are going. Give me a little ray of hope, someone, please… Pray tell me: why, o why, would anyone deliberately use a bitmapped font for their UI?
