I always felt the issue with BWP was the fact you really didn’t care for any of the group. If the characters had been refined to change that then it would have been a classic which lasted through the ages.

But there is no denying it was quite an achievement. The filmmakers deserve respect for that and the campaign. Sure it was a trick used by Rodato (spelling) in Cannibal Holocaust but it came just at the start of the Internet age.

And it has to be said… The final shot of the one character with his back to camera standing in the corner is creepy as Hell and brilliantly foreshadowed.

Yes Blair Witch was a clumsy thump in the ground but it’s left an echo which reverberates to this day.
