While I do agree with some of the points you explained, the number 5 is not the best conclusion. The way European politicians dealt with the crisis and the Greek situation was definitely shortsighted, ruthless and cold. However, that does not mean we are doomed to that same behaviour over similar scenarios.

On the other hand, to be completely honest, failing to achieve those same reforms would probably lead the EU to less and less public support as citizens’ patience runs out.
