I thought that was interesting about Segoe not rendering properly at odd/even font pixel sizes, so I went investigating…

Here’s some 1px font-size increments for Segoe on Windows and San Fran on macOS, both in Chrome.

It all looks normal enough to my eyes (given that screenshots of text will always look a bit crappy). Maybe you’re looking at Windows in a VM or something and that’s causing the weird behaviour.

Anyhoo, I guess font quality in general is in the eye of the beholder, because I wouldn’t look at those two blocks of text and consider the second one totally fine but the first one a “very poor typography experience” (or even *very* peculiar).
