I agree. I think there is a lot of snobbery among user researchers toward online usability tests, but for many of the things product teams at Skyscanner come to me for, I suggest online testing as the first thing to try. There are limitations to whichever research approach you take, it’s simply a case of deciding what it is you are willing to trade off. I’ll check out the book, it sounds like it might save me a lot of time getting people started.
