Overview

Similar to my advice with Subway, one of the best options with Quiznos is to get the Sub as a Salad.

Recommendations

Sub as a Salad + Side Salad

  1. Grilled Chicken or Turkey — depends on the location, but I’d recommend chicken as your first option because it will likely be much lower in sodium than the deli turkey they use
  2. Cucumbers — anti-inflammatory, keeps you hydrated and helps skin
  3. Green Peppers — high in antioxidants, maintains eye health and reduces the risk of chronic illnesses
  4. Mushrooms — lowers cholesterol, prevents diabetes, and improves bone health
  5. Guacamole — 20 different vitamins and minerals, improves heart health, lowers cholesterol and triglyceride levels
  6. Lettuce — rich in antioxidants, prevents bone loss and improves heart health
  7. Onions — lots of nutrients, antioxidants, and improves heart health
  8. Tomato — improves heart health, fights cancer, and improves skin health
  9. Sautéed Veggies are optional since there’s a bunch of other veggies already on here. Personally, I would pass on this due to the increased sodium from the seasoning they’ll use and/or fat from the oil they’ll cook it in since we already have healthy fats from the avocados in the guacamole

Side Salad

The side salad has the following contents:

  1. Tomato — improves heart health, fights cancer, and improves skin health
  2. Onions — lots of nutrients, antioxidants, and improves heart health
  3. Cucumbers — anti-inflammatory, keeps you hydrated and helps skin
  4. Black Olives — high in antioxidants and promotes digestion, as well as cardiovascular health
  5. Skip the red wine vinaigrette or ask for it on the side so you’re in control of how much is used (if any)

Baked Lay’s Chips

Generally, I wouldn’t recommend chips unless the ingredients are potatoes, sea salt, and some type of oil similar to the Thinny Chips from Jimmy Johns. However, if you need something more than the salad, I’d go with the Baked Lay’s Chips since they have the least amount of additives compared to other options.
