The Top 5 Best Man Gifts

When doing “Wedmin” as it’s now called there are multiple things us men baulk at… table plans, stationary selections and don’t even get me started on music choices. But there is one task that is usually delegated to us that shouldn’t make us dread; the Best Man and Groomsmen Gifts.

But more often than not it still becomes a chore, what do you get such a mixed bunch of guys that appear to have everything? Well today I’ve taken the chore out of the task… Here are my Top 5 Best Man Gifts (in no particular order).

1. The Personalised Shaving Set
Lets face it, unless your Best Man or Groomsmen are anti shaving, and sport a father Christmas beard, he will require a razor. What better occasion than to treat him to a good one that he can use for the rest of his days? (Rather unlike his Gillette one that’s sitting unceremoniously beside the sink). From £46

2. The SWIG Flask
A traditional staple of a wedding, and a great way to share a wee nip in the morning with your boys. These flasks are nothing but sleek and shiny, they also offer next day delivery and a gift-wrapping option. SWIG also offer advice on how to look after a hip flask and offer insights to local distilleries. If you purchase one of these flasks you also get an invite to the SWIG society. From £49

3. The Custom bottle of whisky
Having seen it first done by Bushmills, personalised whisky bottles have started to become a real thing. As you can see personalisation is a common theme in this blog. But nothing says “thoughtful” more than customisation… and I might of course be partial to the contents.

4. The Pocket Knife
We’ve come full circle to practicality… and perhaps more of an American take on the list. According to EDC (or Every Day Carry) it is one of the top things a man needs to bring with him on a daily basis. Not every man is going to have the same requirements for a knife, so this is a great theme of gift, which can be personalised through different blades, handles and functionality. From £45.27

5. Socks & Cufflinks
I took a traditional take on my own wedding, and nothing says tradition more than those wedding photos of the cufflinks going onto the brand new white shirt. But a new trend has emerged in recent years, which include snazzy socks, I have to say I am one of those people that opted for this option. Plus who doesn’t like the feeling of a new pair of socks?! From £25

I also hope by this point you haven’t started wondering “Am I cut out for Marriage” but instead are preening for the Best Groom ever award.

PS…You might be wondering what I got my own groomsmen if I came up with this list… to be honest I cheated and got 3/5 of the above. I’ll let you guess which came out on top.
