Excellent points, Ben. I totally agree. I’m continuously surprised by how many startup founders try to shop for the cheapest lawyers or get friends to help. If you believe your startup is going to be wildly successful it’s worth investing in a firm that understands the nuances of capital structures, founder issues, and vesting schedules. Finding a law firm that can be a strategic guide is something I’m a big believer in.
