“Preferences are what I want for myself. Values are what I want for others.” Strange how often values seem to be dictated by preferences. I want to send my kids to college and don’t want to pay for it, so I have a “value” of free college, paid for by somebody else of course, that somebody often being those who never go to college. I prefer a high paying job, so I have a “value” of a high minimum wage, that means nobody will hire those who might work for less than me.

Then we can notice these “values” seem to all involve “rights” to rob somebody else. You must pay higher taxes, provide “services” the receiver doesn’t want to pay for, and in general act like a slave. with the delusion you are somehow winning a losing game.
