1. Gather your tools and materials

Before you begin the installation process, it’s important to gather all the necessary tools and materials. You will need a sensor light, a ladder, a screwdriver, wire strippers, wire connectors, electrical tape, and a voltage tester. Make sure to read the manufacturer’s instructions carefully and follow all safety precautions before starting the installation process. Once you have all the necessary tools and materials, you’re ready to begin.

2. Turn off the power and remove the old light fixture.

The first step in installing LED sensor lights is to turn off the power to the existing light fixture. This can be done by flipping the circuit breaker or removing the fuse that controls the power to the fixture. Once the power is off, use a screwdriver to remove the old light fixture from the wall or ceiling. Be sure to save any screws or mounting hardware that may be needed for the new fixture.

3. Install the mounting bracket and wiring.

After removing the old fixture, it’s time to install the mounting bracket for outdoor sensor lights. Begin by attaching the bracket to the electrical box using the screws provided. Next, connect the wiring from the electrical box to the wiring on the PHL sensor light. This typically involves connecting the black wire to the black wire, the white wire to the white wire, and the green or bare wire to the ground wire. Use wire nuts to secure the connections and wrap them with electrical tape for added safety. Once the wiring is connected, attach LED sensor lights to the mounting bracket using the screws provided.

4. Attach the sensor and light fixture.

After the mounting bracket is securely attached and the wiring is connected, it’s time to attach the sensor and light fixture. This typically involves attaching the sensor to the bottom of the light fixture using the screws provided. Make sure the sensor is facing the desired direction and is securely attached. Once the sensor is attached, attach the light fixture to the mounting bracket using the screws provided. Make sure the light fixture is level and securely attached. Finally, insert the light bulbs and turn on the power to test the PHL sensor light.

5. Test and adjust the sensor settings.

After installing the outdoor sensor lights, it’s important to test and adjust the sensor settings to ensure it’s working properly. Most sensors have adjustable settings for sensitivity, duration, and range. Test the sensor by walking in front of it and making sure the light turns on and off as expected. If the sensor is too sensitive, it may turn on unnecessarily, wasting energy. If it’s not sensitive enough, it may not turn on when needed. Adjust the settings as needed to achieve the desired results.
