‘Tesla has no plans to disable Autopilot feature, Musk says’

The Wall Street Journal article via Automotive News / July 12, 2016

Wow Musk must really think his are made of gold… I think we will all agree the NHTSA should have something to say about this outright disrespect for not following the rules…

To reiterate the BIG Question is why are there any L3 Automatic Systems in the public hands, or hands off in this case??? L3 is NOT Approved for Public Use, yet.

L2 Assist Systems have yet to be tested to the NHTSA Testing Guidelines but in the meantime are OK for public use because Clearly Assist Means Human Drivers Keep Control, Always.

If the NHTSA does not make Musk downgrade his Tesla L2+L3 Autopilot to L2 Pilot Assist and some idiot watching a movie in one of his cars hits me than is Musk and the NHTSA responsible?

Seriously Musk takes stubborn to a new height. To wait until the NHTSA clarifies all this with the Testing Guidelines later this month before changing anything is one thing,,, but,,, he should have taken a legal path and in his position said nothing but we are all waiting for the NHTSA Safety Testing Guidelines of all these new technologies.

Now the NHTSA will be able to make an example of having even Tesla have to comply to safety regulations.
