Hi Dr. Nagoski. Thanks for posting. If I understand you correctly — and please correct me if I’m wong — you’re claiming that (albeit perhaps through no ill-intent) ACDA is rampant with sexism, as manifested in the disproportionate numbers of men vs women conductors of college or other “high level” non-all-female/treble choirs. You also specifically say that this disproportionate representation is “definitely not” due to any difference in preferences along gender lines. Can i ask how you know this is not the case? How do we know females don’t simply prefer treble, high school, middle school or youth choirs more than men? I haven’t been able to find any figures supporting this claim, but it would certainly be a very interesting endeavor to learn more about what might actually be causing this imbalance. thanks for any help in pointing me towards some answers.
