I recently wrote about the “Sharing Economy” from the worker’s point of view — A Better Name For The So-Called “Sharing Economy” Is “The Shareworker Economy” — A Shareworker Is Nothing More Than An Old-Time Sharecropper In Fancy New Clothes. If you can get past the legal challenges, the sharecropper business model is better for the company in the short term, but it’s terrible for most workers and therefore bad for any society where those workers compose a material percentage of the workforce.
