Yes, it should be 124,587,000. You ask some good questions about the deeper roots of the census data, but that kind of detailed research and analysis is beyond the scope of a short article such as this. I would welcome someone investing the time and effort to do that. Given the overwhelming urban population vs. rural population of the U.S. I think that most of under $25K HHs are going to be in an urban setting but certainly not all of them. What the percentage is would take a good deal of effort to tease out of the raw data.
