When all is said and done, it does not matter how the White House was constructed and who it was that did the construction. The only thing that matters is that it was done. It was a symbol to all that there was 1 leader that was voted in and got to live in the White House for 4 years, a total of 8 years if both elections were won… along with the FDR being able to have 3 Terms and he died in his last term, just months before the 2nd World War ended. The symbol of freedom and that this is not a King’s Castle made a great distinction between the Brits. where we came from, to a now new people who may have been born in the UK, but now became their own people and their leader was not a dictator, but a servant of the people, elected by the people. The Declaration of Independence, if the Book and Musical “1776” was correct, was made as the original document that lead to the Constitution and then to the Congress and President and Supreme Court. They are all ours. The 54 people that signed the Declaration of Independence, just miles away from where I am writing this, showed the strength in small numbers and how making a decision to grow into our own people stands up today as the symbols of Freedom of Speech and Freedom to not have someone who was above us and could do what they wanted when they wanted to. Now, our USA Law took the driver seat and what better sign then the White House that no matter who built it, stands today as our symbol of the Leader of our Country, not the King that rules until their death or abdication. Who built it … has no value and further adds to breaking us apart. Let’s keep our “Eye on the Ball” of life and know that there is a large difference up until this day I am writing this that in the UK, you are ruled by a King or Queen. We outgrew that over 200 years ago and they have held close to it for thousands of years. Lastly, most new words come from the USA. English in England is ancient. For the most part, since most of the inventions that are used today like car, telephone, etc… are our words. They needed to change the English Dictionary to add words like “White House” that is like no other House in the World!
