Hi Stephen. This is a fair point, very fair indeed. You are correct of course — the neurodiverse encompasses many more beyond the autistic, particularly the ones you have listed here. I think because the focus of Autscape is so directly upon autism (which is also my specific area of study), I may have lost sight a little of the extent of the term ‘neurodiverse’. Thanks for pulling me up on it. There was no-one at the event who specifically defined neurodiversity in this way (not that I witnessed anyway, but I seriously doubt it).

It would be an interesting area of study — and perhaps this is something which is now a bit overdue — to see if the close tie between autism and neurodiversity has created problems for people, such as yourself, who must strive harder for that neurodivergent marker. For my part, it is good to be continually reminded of this because it only serves to indicate the urgency of the general recognition of neurodiversity throughout society.
