I happily use Google products for certain services — particularly (non-private) email, calendar and maps. But my concerns about their desire to hoover up every last bit of data about my life stop me going further. I don’t want Google to have photos of everyone I know. I don’t want Google to read my private journal.

Android has matured significantly in recent years. It’s an excellent operating system. But until Google starts to take user privacy seriously, I’ll stick with iOS.
