It feels like the topic selection model they use for #edchat is not flexible. I think “most popular wins” is fine when things are status quo, but we are a long way from status quo right now. I also wonder if the moderators deliberately shy away from topics that invite dissonance, either deliberately or (more likely) subconsciously.
