Well, that was fast! We sold our car — a 2006 Scion xB — on Saturday January 9th, 2016. Just two days after posting it up, it was gone.

Freedom.

Now, a few days later, we have our bicycles and have made a few trips with them already. Our first rides left us absolutely drenched! Most of our gear inbound from across the pond yonder, from HollandBikeShop.com.

I’ve put over 25 miles on my bike in just five days. For the most part, they’re awesome car replacements! I have had to adjust my rear wheel twice because it was rubbing on the fender. They didn’t secure it into the drop-outs well enough. Also, both of our front brakes are rubbing. I’ll have to adjust those as well.

That said, I don’t regret purchasing them. I do wish we could have sprung for higher-quality cycles that follow the industry standards of sizing, as ours are being met with all sorts of issues getting gear to fit due to the different dimensions. I’ll rig some things up, however. And the folks are RadPower are working on getting accessories out that other manufacturers have for theirs.

We purchased two RadWagons for the price of one bike that has been around for longer. All funded by the sale of our car!

We are so looking forward to the experiences we will have and the memories we will create!
