Marcos Hermes is the leading photographer of the Brazilian music scene. From Ney Matogrosso to Sepultura, from Lenine to Criolo, from Pavilhão 9 to Pabllo Vittar, he has created some of the most iconic images that are now brought together in his book “Brasilerô”.

From MPB through samba tradicional, from rap to eletrônica, from the revolutionary artists of the tropicália movement to the contemporary metal scene, the book features over 30 years of photos, accompanied by texts written by journalist Pedro Só, and such artists as Chico Cesar, Andreas Kisser, Zeca Baleiro, Chico Chico (son of Cassia Eller), Zé Ricardo and Baby do Brasil.

He began his career working in newspapers in Rio de Janeiro, such as O Dia and Jornal de Hoje, covering everything from crimes to politics, before focusing on the music scene. By the late 90s, he was working with most of the record labels, registering photos used on almost 700 albums and DVDs.

Many of the photos were shown in 2017 at the Rockódromo Festival, in Valparaíso Chile, invited by the Chilean government, and at the SIM SP music conference in São Paulo. He is represented in Europe by the Dolce Vita Gallery (Rome).

The book was made possible through crowd-funding on Kickante, and the work of Amalia Tarallo, with support from Leograf, and Shure.
