Silicon Valley Has a Vulnerability Problem

This is an absolutely amazing piece. What interests me most as I read it is the parallels with mental illness. At the age of 25 I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, sometimes referred to as CEOs Disease. So I decided to “go with my strengths”. Now at the age of 50 I’m a CEO and entrepreneur. Thing is, I honestly believe that what I learned about my own vulnerability at 25 helped me become the person I am today; accelerated my growth. Vulnerability is not weakness, it’s actually the purest form of courage. To lay yourself bare and honestly look at the chinks in your armour is brutal; but it doesn’t kill you. Denial kills you. Post diagnosis I tried to be “perfect” to “fake it”. The pressure almost killed me, many of my contemporaries paid the ultimate price. Amazing piece. Thank you for writing it.
