Can’t agree that it is core Labour. Nearby Workington, yes (the only one left in Cumbria) but adjacent Penrith is core Tory and the seat is a mixture of both although it does favour Labour as the former mining areas are more populated. I agree with the rest of the article though. You can probably write something similar about adjacent Barrow before the next GE where the above average Woodcock will probably see the seat return to the Foot era Tory dominance.
