The Unthinkable. I Am Quitting The Gym

Same situation here… I quit the gym after 20 something years as a member… My gym once again sold, increased dues from $50 to $80, with no change in facilities or services, and I was just getting enough workout from my yoga practice, running & hiking, and swinging my KBs.

The big mover for me was that I realized I was spending 30 minutes commuting to & from my gym (even though it’s only 3 miles away.) I considered all time from when I left my home’s door to returning to my home’s door, less workout time. That 30 minutes is my meditation time, and I’m reclaiming that practice which is giving me more than my ego-identity that liked to be seen at the gym every day.
