Mind Your F*cking Business

I’m pissed too, son!

After decades of trying to figure life out, listening to motivational speakers (on tape at one point), going to seminars, pictures of meaningful quotes, and even living like a homeless person for two and a half years, I have learned that there very few rules in life.

Live life as naturally as possible.

Eat real food, get outside, move, get good sleep, and avoid electronics as much as possible. I even came up with my own quote; “Your body will accomplish amazing things when you allow it to do what it is supposed to do.” Deep huh?

The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.

This is a line from the song Nature Boy written by eden ahbez. I first heard it via George Benson and was reintroduced to it via the movie Moulin Rouge. That’s when I started to see these words as more than just song lyrics. Maybe this was a rule of life. Just love and be loved. Imagine what life would be like if you just did this one thing.

Do no harm, especially to yourself.

That’s a pretty good one.

Don’t worry about it.

Either you can fix the problem or you can’t. If you can fix it, great. If you can’t, it’s out of your control — no point in worrying about it.

Do what you love.

Ahh beautiful, right? Blah blah blah.

All of these things are cool philosophies but are they really rules? Maybe these are just my rules or how I want to live my life. Who am I to tell you how to live your life? Why should I insist you not eat junk food? I mean, it will improve the quality of your life, but it’s really none of my business.

I should mind my own business and take care of me and my family. What do I care what you do, right? RIGHT!

When it comes down to it, I feel there is ultimately only one rule to life: MIND YOUR OWN FUCKING BUSINESS.

You may have also heard it as You Do You, which is not as harsh but fuck that. This needs to be harsh. This needs to be heard. This needs to get people’s attention. Mind your own fucking business.

You should be your priority and then your family. Food, shelter, and water are obvious after that, add whatever you want. Love, religion, ethics, iPads. I don’t care.

You want to smoke in the car with your kid, you want to drag them to church, you want to have multiple wives, you want to have a polyamorous relationship, you want to be a vegan, you want to identify as a man, you want to homeschool your kids, you want to drink, you want to smoke weed, you want to march in a pride parade, you want to march in a Nazi parade, you want to get an abortion; do it. Do whatever the fuck you want. It is none of my business.

That being said, let me do whatever the fuck I want. Stay out of my business. Do you see how this works? We can all live our own happy lives on our own. I don’t have to study the Bible in school but you can if you want. You can go to a school that teaches it. That’s the beautiful thing about our country. We have that freedom.

Where we run into trouble is when people don’t mind their own fucking business. You see just because you want to teach your children about Noah’s Ark doesn’t mean I have to. And when you try and force that upon me or my family, that’s when we have a problem because my family is my business, not yours.

I promise you that if you try to interfere with my business, you will have a fight. Try to harm my family, you’ll have a fight, try to take from my family, you’ll have a fight. Try to impose your moral standards and ethics on my family and you will have a fight.

These abortion laws are ridiculous.

Of course, they are the reason for this rant. What do your beliefs have to do with me or anyone else outside of your family? What the fuck do you care? Is it because all lives matter or each life is precious? I call bullshit. Why are families being separated at the border? Why is nothing done about school shootings? Why are you so against free healthcare and government assistance?

While most political interests have to do with making money, this is the only one that is based on individual beliefs. This is people wanting control over others. Moreover, it’s people wanting to rob women of their right to chose what they do with their bodies. All because they want more people to be like them. Essentially they are saying, “I want you to believe what I believe.” I want you to think and act like I want you to. This is not ok.

Maybe I am digressing here.

My point is this, mind your fucking business. If it does not impact you or your immediate family’s life, it isn’t any of your business. Imagine a world where everybody minded their own business? What a beautiful place it would be.
