Been sober since 2008. Love your writing. I thought my Juris Doctor degree was inoculation against falling prey to alcohol addiction. In fact, my well-developed mind was my worst enemy. You really capture the madness, magical thinking and complete illogic of the alcoholic mind. For 10 years I swore that I would take a left-turn out of my work parking lot and head home or to the golf course or to the beach but my car refused to go that way. It wanted to take a right turn to the liquor store with all the sparkling bottles and the ever-increasing types of flavored vodka. My car won every time. I quit with help and haven’t craved a drink in 8 years. My best to you! I will share these pieces with others who have surrendered and those who need to. Thanks!
