Might there also be a related but different bit of anonymity going on as well? Humans are tribal and we act on behalf of people in our tribe(s) but the concept of a tribe has become virtual and diluted. Often times, we don’t even know the people that live next door! I’m not excusing, I’m just pointing out that we don’t make bonds the way humans used to.
