True, reactance can have an impact but looking at how popular a platform like Booking.com still is I’d say reactance might be quite blunt. They most definitely lost customers due to it but the percentage is probably insignificant in the context of their business compared to the benefits brought by scarcity and I think they would have changed their strategy long ago if that wasn’t the case.
