You’re reading it correctly. The data suggests that those interested in data science/engineering do spend less time learning, but we can’t say they want to spend less time. There could be a number of reasons why they don’t/can’t dedicate as much time as the other roles: maybe they already have some experience with the material, maybe they have demanding full-time jobs, maybe they have a family, etc.

P.S. The box plots are a better place to look for a single metric.
