NFL Week 2 Daily Fantasy Cash (mostly) Plays to Consider
In week one we watched the chalk QB Dak Prescott go down in flames, and the chalk RB Spencer Ware rip it up. Most likely you had both of these players in your cash lineups, and hopefully you had enough great performances to reach a large cash line.
Now we are in week two, and based off of a few ownership reports from some smaller DFS sites, we can piece together our cash lineups. This week I’m taking a different approach, and I’m running two cash lineups. The first is for 50/50s and Double Ups. This will be my chalkiest lineup. The second is for Head to Head’s, and while I will still feature a few chalk plays, I want to differentiate (and dominate) my opponent, so I will take a contrarian QB/WR stack.
Cash Quarter Backs
Eli Manning is your chalk QB this week, but I can see Drew Brees having decent ownership as well. This game has the highest implied total, and will be very popular in cash games. What you need to know is the weather. 50% chance of rain, and thunderstorms. What you also need to know is that Drew plays way better at home. Eli and Odell Beckham is this week’s chalk stack.
A nice contrarian pivot is Derek Carr. An implied total of 27, I can see Carr throwing 2–3 touchdowns, and I’m stacking him with Amari Cooper. Oakland has a stellar offensive line, and 71% of their touchdowns last year were passing. Oakland is better this year. See what Tampa Bay did to Atlanta last week? Cooper had 11 targets last week. I expect to see around the same.
Others to seriously consider: Marcus Mariota, Cam Newton, Matt Stafford
Cash Running Backs
C.J. Anderson is your chalk RB this week. See a trend here. I’m TELLING you who the chalk is. You must have C.J. in your cash lineups. The Broncos OL is garbage, but he continues to find ways to impress us. The Colts are always easy to pick on, so do it!
Based on some early ownership numbers, DeAngelo Williams makes a strong case for my RB2 this week. I’m seeing him owned as high as 50% in tournaments, and I’d expect the same in cash games. While the Bengals have a decent pass defense, their run defense is awful. There is a chance of rain at this game, and it’s always a grudge match between these two teams. Look for Big Ben to dish the ball to D Will early and often. Pittsburgh has a decently high implied total of 26.
Others to seriously consider: T.J. Yeldon (if Ivory is out), Lamar Miller (Fanduel), Danny Woodhead (Draftkings), Rashad Jennings
I absolutely love Carlos Hyde for tournaments. I had to throw that in there.
Cash Wide Receivers
Three wide receivers. Oh, the possibilities. Let’s make this really, really simple. Targets = Opportunities. Opportunities = Catches. Catches = Yards. Yards = Scores.
If you are using Eli, you must take Odell Beckham. If you are using Drew Brees, you must take Brandon Cooks. Which ever QB you use, take his WR1. Simple. Just do it. Now, chances are we need some salary relief. Looking at our Top 15 Targeted WRs from last week, there is some tremendous value out there this week. The higher priced players, Allen Robinson, A.J. Green and Antonio Brown are in play as well.

Cole Beasley, Tavon Austin (DO NOT ROSTER, he can’t catch), Jeremy Kerley, Tajae Sharpe and Will Fuller are all priced really low, on every DFS site. BUY NOW! Will Fuller and Tajae Sharpe are my favorite value plays this week, and they will be in my cash lineups. Cole Beasley also makes for a really nice value play this week.
You will notice that Tajae Sharpe’s price jumped quite a bit, so now is the time to buy low! Same with Fuller, he only went up $500 & $600, but I can guarantee you, it will be higher next week.
Others to seriously consider: Amari Cooper, Michael Thomas (Value), Sterling Shepard, Marvin Jones
Cash Tight Ends
Looking further in to my target report, Jason Witten is leading that front, and he is nicely priced everywhere. He is my top Cash Tight End this week. Dak faced an expensive Giants defense last week, and still targeted Witten 14 times. 25% of Dallas passing TDs last year were to their TE. With the best OL in the league, and a mundane match up with Washington, I’m all in on Witten.
Others to seriously consider: Jordan Reed, Greg Olsen, Jesse James (Top value TE)
I’m not going to break down defenses and kickers. These last two positions are relatively easy enough for us to decide on our own, and it could be what separates us from the pack.
Good luck in Week 2.
