I do something similar, with the difference being me skipping breakfast and thriving on black coffee for the most of the morning. I will perhaps grab a protein bar or a few almonds to last till lunch, which I prefer having before noon, since I wake up around 5 am. And oh yeah — this helps me remain sharp sooooo much!

One thing I learned from my experimenting with losing and maintaining weight is that we are all quite different, so please don’t take this as unsolicited advice, but rather as genuine curiosity on my behalf.

Have you tried eating a smaller lunch? You say you come back from lunch “with your stomach full of food”. Why go that far? Have you tried eating just half of the food, but eating/chewing twice as long?

Do you take any kind of breaks during the work day? You kinda made it sound like you’d prefer staying glued to the screen 8 hours straight. But one should be able to take a break every now and then, without necessarily losing much of the depth that they were operating at before the break.
