One more comment: you may wonder why I mentioned DV before but not PV (Prostitution-related violence). Last year, in Victoria population ~6 million, there were 37 DV deaths, PV death statistics are not readily available, but far fewer. Nationally in Australia, population ~22million, police attended one DV incident on average every 2 minutes, 24 x 7. The exact number of notified call-outs is 262,028 for the year; the number of incidents that do not lead to a call-out is far, far higher. If you’ve ever heard it called ‘the Australian disease’ now you know why. There’s historical reasons, but that’s for another time, maybe.
