A whitepaper is always expected to be the most faithful source of information about something. If the whitepaper can’t be trusted, then put a huge red banner on the first page, ideally along with the current best source of information. Or just take it down until you’ve got something better.

I found this blog post by randomly searching for information about BigchainDB. This is not an acceptable communication model. Ironically, we’re talking about a component that’s meant to facilitate reliable communication of information. I know a team’s communications skill and their technical skills are not necessarily related, but still you’re not creating a big amount of trust here.
