Congratulations. In the list of benefits you tout for self-driving cars, I’d urge you to include reduced environmental damage. Traffic that is smarter means vehicles that can be much lighter, using less energy and material in manufacturing as well as in operation. And of course highly-utilized fleets of autonomous vehicles are more likely to be electric, since lower operating costs weigh more heavily and fleet operators care more about total cost of ownership than do low-usage private buyers today. Autonomous, electric, lightweight — a winning combination for passengers and for the environment they move through.
