Keep practicing dear. don’t let people laughing keep you from it. I once had a friend, Ebube who was in the same dilemma, born and bred in lagos except in his case, both parents were igbo, the mum was a teacher and they all spoke in English. by the time they knew it, it was tough learning, but with the teasing and constant practice, he is getting by lol. what matters is that people at least understand what you say. #Jisi ike oo nne. :)
