Dawn of Ships December Update

Ahoy me hearties, and a merry Christmas to you all! We’ve returned from sailing the seven seas once again to deliver news of Dawn of Ship’s Development.

Starting with the ‘Arrrrrt’!

While this isn’t the final look of the kinds of ships in the final release, it should give all of you future captains out there an idea of the ship you’ll be commanding yourselves! As you can see, the ship is adorned with striking modular pieces, such as the vivid red sails which, of itself, will be a marketable part of your ship! You’ll be able to customize each part of your ship with either the parts you earned while playing, or the parts you traded for on the Stratis Marketplace. Eventually, you’ll have the ship of your dreams and the envy of your fellow seafarers!

“But how would a dashing pirate captain like myself get to that point, where my ship is perfect and the most notorious on the Seven Seas?” Well, I’m glad you asked, because we’re pleased to announce the core gameplay loop of Dawn of Ships. So you’ll be able to know what you’ll need to do in order to plunder treasure like a true pirate!

Core Gameplay Loop

Starting off on your ship, you’ll need to pick your first target wisely. Do you raid an island farm for Rum or do battle with another ship for Gold? Whenever you raid or fight, you’ll expend energy and your ship’s durability. Let’s say you raided an island farm, now you’re sailing away with your looted rum, but what can you spend it on? Well, there’s three things and they all involve your crew:

• You can re-energise your crew, just in case you’ve found yourself running low on energy after the raid.
• You can level up your crew, making them faster and more efficient.
• Finally, you can even recruit more crew members!

But wait, let’s say instead, you decided to battle another ship? Well, just like with the island farm, you will have expended energy and ship durability in order to get the Gold. Now, you’re sailing away with your Gold, ready to spend it on your ship:

• You can repair your ship if the last raid took too much health to achieve.
• You can level up your ship itself, making it stronger and tougher.
• And last but not least, you can build on your ship, fitting in new upgrades!

Once you’ve spent your Rum and/or Gold, then it’s time to sail again in search of your next target for plunder!
