Instagram’s New Features
The Gram just announced that it will be rolling out three new features to its app. The first being a new tab called “about this account”, which will let users know background information on other Instagram users. Such as what country the account is from, any previous usernames it had, any ads that it is running, etc.
The second new feature is two-factor authentication, which to be honest is a bit late to the party. Other social media platforms like Twitter and YouTube have had this for close to two years now. But it’s better late than never. The only odd thing is, in order to do the two-factor authentication, you have to go through a third party app. So that’s another app you have to download. Bummer.
Lastly, the final new feature they will be introducing is the “request verification” ability. This will allow for users who reach a large number of accounts to be able to apply to be verified and given the blue check mark next to their name. In order to be verified you have to provide a proof of identification and also have a large audience on your page.
