Designer 1: Emmett McBain

True Two Ad
Black is Beautiful Ad
Marlboro “Where the flavor is” Ad

These are some of Emmett McBain’s notable works. Most of his work include black models, especially in his advertisements. We can also see the use of bright colors and patterns.

Designer 2: Art Sims

Bamboozled Movie Poster
Black Panther Movie Poster
Do the Right Thing Movie Poster
Jungle Fever Movie Poster
Mo’ Better Blues Movie Poster

Art Sims is known for his movie posters, especially for those movies produced by Spike Lee. These are some of Sims’ notable works. I chose these designs because you can see the use of the highly saturated colors and in some, the traditional African patterns.
