Interested rather than interesting

Insight from my morning study:

One of the best ways to build close relationships with people is to truly be interested in them rather than always trying to be someone that is interesting. Listen to people closely with the intention of genuinely learning about them.

When people feel that you are really interested in getting to know them and their feelings, they tend to open up and share things with you much more quickly.

What is the other person feeling and thinking? How do they see the world around them? What is their story? What are their aspirations, goals and dreams? What do they fear? What obstacles are they facing?

Always be curious.
