Insight from my morning study: To build on yesterday’s thoughts regarding growth and overcoming obstacles I came across this quote about success from Bill Gates: Success is a lousy teacher. It seduces smart people into thinking they can’t lose. Having an attitude of “I can’t lose” limits the potential you have to grow. In fact, we learn the most about ourselves when we fail. Learning to face obstacles, difficulties and failure is part of your lessons on growth and success.

Insight from my morning study: Growth does not happen in life when things are going smooth and easy. It happens when obstacles and difficulties get in the way. When you get knocked down. When you’re face to face with fear. Of course you have a choice to try and overcome those obstacles or not. If you don’t try you won’t grow. If you do try you’re guaranteed to experience growth. Either way, you have the power of choice. To grow or not to grow.

Insight from my morning study: If you want to make a change for the better, raising your standards is a must. Think about the things you demand of yourself, the things you accept, the things you tolerate, and the person you want to become. If you raise the bar for any of these things, what would be possible in your life? Don’t let others bring you down. Instead lift them up by setting a new example.

Insight from my morning study: One of the best ways to build close relationships with people is to truly be interested in them rather than always trying to be someone that is interesting. Listen to people closely with the intention of genuinely learning about them. When people feel that you are really interested in getting to know them and their feelings, they tend to open up and share things with you much more quickly.
