All Ezra could see was shadows, he had travelled for 3 days and had only seen tribe settlements. The Hishai must have gotten to them, the stench of rotten skin had pervaded the air. Only the Hishai could do such damage; this was what befell anyone who refused to submit to their rule.

Ezra had seen an invasion once and chills still ran up his spine, the price of joining them was even greater. They offered a cup they called ESE, once drunk the transformation will occur.

Ezra felt a sudden unease as he could feel evil eyes watching him. He turned around, but saw nothing but birds beyond the tree line.

He heard rustling leaves behind him and drew his sword, he turned around and all he heard was silence. His pulse quickened and his heart started racing, he was sure he was being followed.

Suddenly the smell of sulfur filled the air, he knew his instincts were right. The Hishai were following him.

He started running from this invisible enemy. A scream pierced through the silence, and he knew he was in trouble. If this was the end he will face his attackers with courage and no way will he drink their cup.

He stopped abruptly and turned to face his attackers and there stood the most vicious looking creature he had ever seen. All the description in the legends did not capture how hideous this creature was. Its eyes were red, every muscle evenly toned with fangs for teeth. It watched Ezra with disdain and hatred and said to him “this is your end”.

Ezra drew his sword and looked to the heavens. Was this to be his end? He was determined to fight till he had no strength left.

In the shadows, Tulio and Chennai watched closely. “We should help him?” Chennai said as he stepped forward.

Tulio held him back and said, Master Chakai said wait.

The next part comes out on Friday 1800 WAT & 1400 CST.
