Day 128

19. INT. DAY. STUDIO

Here are a few short conversations I’ve had while working on location. Those took place whenever I bumped into someone and we saw ourselves forced to let something out of our mouths, simply to make the awkwardness go away. Usually those are “moving conversations”. You know, when people don’t stop their path while talking:

Conversation 1

IMPORTANT PERSON 1

So, are you having fun?

ME

It’s alright.

IMPORTANT PERSON 1

Well, as long as you’re having fun.

Conversation 2

IMPORTANT PERSON 2

Heeeey!

ME

Hey. Everything alright?

IMPORTANT PERSON 2

Everything great! You?

She left before I could answer

Conversation 3

IMPORTANT PERSON 3

So, man, you enjoying yourself?

ME

It’s alright.

IMPORTANT PERSON 3

Just alright?

ME

Nah, it’s fun! It’s been fun!

IMPORTANT PERSON 3

There you go, man!

Conversation 4

ME

…So yeah, I pretty much just want to be a writer again.

IMPORTANT PERSON 4

I see. That’s pretty cool. I’m guessing you’re not that crazy about being on location then.

ME

It’s not bad. I mean, I wish I didn’t have to be here, since I prefer the work that happens before shooting and filming, but it’s a nice way to meet cool people working in the field…the whole networking thing.

IMPORTANT PERSON 4

We all did that. I remembered when I was starting up and I was running around and learning. I think those were the most fun days I had on the business.

ME

Trust me, it isn’t as fun doing it a second time.

IMPORTANT PERSON 4

Hahaha, I can imagine. Just don’t let anyone see that.

ME

Yeah.

Conversation 5

IMPORTANT PERSON 5

Hey, dude! Having fun?

He went into a corridor before I could give him an answer.

ME

…y…

Day 128, Charlie, guess not all lies become true when you repeat them ad infinitum.
