Thank you for sharing your experience at City Hall. I really like the question you are asking at the end. It is very similar to my research upon gentrification in Baltimore City. I was drawn to my research topic because I have become very observant of the disconnect between the longtime community residents and the powerful corporations that buy the property rights their neighborhood and gentrified them. It is clear that these organization are not serving the Baltimore people but are serving the new young educated crowd of individuals that are moving into the city. Both of our topics are good examples of the symbolic violence that is occurring in the city. They display a system that is being control by the higher hierarchy that those at the bottom cannot success in. I wonder what theorist and/or theories you are using to interpret your finding? And what policies do you see that are not serving and/or disadvantaging toward the homeless but are benefiting others?
