If I Knew Then What I Know Now — Would It Have Made A Difference?
How often do you say, or hear others say:
If I Knew Then What I Know Now …
Be careful here, that’s a great excuse line. There are way too many variables and way too much time may have passed for that line to work. So don’t try to hide behind it. You can’t change anything in the past.
Besides, think on this line:
If I Had Been Told Then What I Would Know Now, Would It Have Made A Difference Then?
Probably not too much of a difference, if any. How many times did your parents tell you something from their experience that you knew better that it did not apply to you — only to find out later (sometimes much later) that it did indeed apply to you?
Priorities change. Perspectives change. What seemed important then doesn’t seem as important now.
In future posts at askinglifeforamulligan.com, I’ll share with you the issues and findings I uncover in my process of becoming a better me.
I may not be where I want to be,
but thank God I’m not where I used to be.
