Hey Simon. I wouldn’t give myself that much credit — I’m hardly the first designer to point it out. But, yes, that is a major difference between Apple and Google or really Apple and just about everyone else. Apple has a very different attitude towards true simplicity and they ruthlessly make choices like removing ports on laptops, reducing feature sets, and sometimes choosing a once-size-fits-all strategy. This frustrates some people who value choice… but it clearly makes some of their products simpler and easier to use for a broad set of customers.
