*TUESDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2021*
*THE ROLE OF THE CHURCH IN NATION BUILDING.*
*BIBLE READING: MATHEW 28:19–20; JOB 12:23–25; GENESIS 26:4–5; NEHEMIAH 4:6–23; 1TIMOTHY 2:1–2*
*“And many peoples shall come and say, “Come, let us go up to the Mountain of the Lord, to the House (Temple) of the God of Jacob; that He may teach us His Ways, and that we may walk in His Paths.” for the Law will go out from Zion. And the Word of the Lord from Jerusalem. And He will judge between the nations and will mediate [disputes] for many peoples; and they will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not lift up the sword against nation, and never again will they learn war. ”Isaiah 2:3–4(AMP).*
The Fall of man from Glory is the greatest tragedy that affected humanity. Man was given Dominion over the Earth *(Ps. 115:16)*, but this right was abused and things fell apart from the Original Blueprint of God and have continued to deteriorate till date. The negative impact of the Fall on Nations cannot be overemphasized. However, the responsibility for restoring creation, the Ministry of Reconciliation *(2Cor. 5:18)* and nation building is not placed on any other creature but on the shoulders of men. Regenerated men are lively stones that are being built up into a Spiritual House: *“You also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”* (1Pet. 2:5).
Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church and all believers are His Ambassadors on the Earth. The Role of the Church in the life of the twenty-first century believer is critical because the problem of man is spiritual and only the Church can administer “a spiritual fix.” The Church is a hospital for sinners and nations, not an exclusive club for saints. The Church is God’s Arm for building and restoring Nations because Saviours will emerge from the Church” *(Obad. 1:21)*
The Body of Christ or the Church plays some of the following roles in Nation building:
*(1.) Prayer:* The Church is the House of Prayer that provokes Heavenly Intervention for the healing of Nations *(2Chron. 7:14).*
*(2.) Missions:* Christians exist to reach out to the lost and disciple them to be like Christ.*(Matt. 24:14).* The Nation grows and is transformed through missions.
*(3.) Peace and Prosperity:* The Church is the Instrument of Peace and Prosperity in every Nation. *(Jer. 29:7).*
*(4.) Spiritual Guidance:* No man is an island hence the Scripture says that *“Without wise leadership, a nation falls; there is safety in having many advisers.”* Prov. 11:14(NLT).
*(5.) Equity and Justice:* The Bible instructs us, especially those in privileged positions of influence, to always *“Speak up for the people who have no voice, for the rights of all the down-and-outers. Speak out for justice! Stand up for the poor and destitute!”* Prov. 31:8–9(MSG).
*PRAYER:*
Heavenly Father, we give You all the Glory for being the Father of Nations. You have proved Yourself in the Nations and Your Banner shall be lifted high in the Nations of the Earth in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen.
