The past and future of laundry
Carl Tashian

Those tunnel washers aren’t perfect, various industries use them on water efficiency settings because of the artificially high cost of water; so they have to do a balancing act between water usage and wastage from stained linen.

If you really care about water you should look at cities like Corpus Christi which got record high rainfall last year but threw away an insane amount of it into the ocean. The situation was absurd with the city paying for water conservation ads and raising the price of water while pouring out more water than we could ever use at our most wasteful.
