3 Things I Learned From the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting
Being able to watch the event live on Yahoo! Financial was interesting to, especially for me. This was the first time that this annual meeting was streaming live. In times pass I listened into different companies annual meetings to understand what was going on and get a grasp of the heart of where the company's principals lied. As most report and release things quickly i internalize it then release. I always learned so much even by the most minute things.
These are the top 3 things I learned from Berkshire Hathaway Meeting:
- Collaboration is King - Berkshire and Yahoo was able to do some awesome work with stepping up to do 1.8 million streams for the first live stream meeting. It is sure to gain even more streams as it will be posted for the next 30 days on Yahoo. The fact that this did so well has Buffett open to do it again and may encourage others to do the same. The one thing a long time ago was in business collaboration is critical to the success of changing industries. Relationship is very valuable , yet creating results takes thing to new levels.
- Derivatives can be an issue- Warren Buffett shares similar passions for derivatives as some regulators. Buffett says that no one knows how to value them properly. He’s known for calling derivatives “weapons of mass financial destruction.” We should pay more attention to what transpires in the coming months.
- Be as patient as you are strategic — The fact that 40,000 people we live in attendance shows the progress of skillfully developing over 50 years in business. This displays the principles of business at its core. Staying driven and exposing yourself to the ability to grow in the areas that need to be strengthen will set you apart from others in your industry.
